Maybe you were diagnosed later in life, identify as neurodivergent, awaiting a diagnosis or were diagnosed years ago, but have never felt fully understood. You may have already tried therapy and found that you didn’t feel understood by your therapist or even felt they dismissed the idea of neurodiversity in relation to your experience.
For neurodivergent individuals, therapy can be especially empowering. I can provide you with tailored support that respects your unique way of experiencing the world. We can work together to help you navigate sensory sensitivities, social interactions, and emotional regulation in ways that feel authentic to you.
I have worked with neurodivergent individuals for over 3 years and have gained a good understanding of how difficult it can be feeling like you have to mask to be accepted in a neurotypical world, how exhausting masking is every day. I have worked with clients who are suffering from low self-esteem, due to having been labelled as “lazy”, “weird”, “rude” by others who didn’t understand their experience.
Getting your needs met is important, you don’t have to feel like you have to pretend to be different to who you are to be accepted. I will work with you to understand your needs without making assumptions or judgements. You don’t have to be anything other than who you are in our sessions. I’m here to work with you.
If you need sessions online or would prefer face to face we can do either or a mixture of both, whichever is most comfortable for you.
